Winners of the 2023-24 Vocal Scholarships
Houston’s oldest opera company, The Gilbert & Sullivan Society of Houston, has awarded over $100,000 in scholarships to students over the years. The G&S Society of Houston’s Vocal Scholarships are open to currently-enrolled vocal undergraduates. Thank you to all who applied. The winners for 2023-24 are:
Kellan Dunlap is earning his MM at Rice University. He is the recipient of a $1300 scholarship from the Society’s Merrils Lewis Scholarship Fund, thereby closing out that long-running fund.
Abigail Bahng is an undergraduate at the University of North Texas. She is the recipient of a $1000 Society Scholarship. Abigail previously performed as a child in a supernumerary role in our 2012 production of Iolanthe.
